So Called Security Forum Pushes Malware
Mac users who think they are above the malware menace should take a look at a recent article in The Register about MacVirus.org.
Discussion forum posts on Macvirus.org seek to trick users into downloading the RSPlug-Gen Trojan, a type of malware capable of infecting Apple Macs. For good measure, the site also harbours posts designed to dupe prospective marks into downloading the Zlobar-Fam Windows Trojan.
The obvious irony aside, I'm not sure the simple social engineering trick of asking a user to download a codecs will work for users concerned enough about Mac malware to visit a purported anti-virus site.
