Yet Another aaS: Crimeware as a Service (CaaS)

You can run an entire business with online services now. You can the office productivity apps from Google or Zoho, servers on demand from Amazon, and databases on demand from Elastra. We've seen for years that cybercrime has developed its own markets and business models so no one will be surprised to hear on demand cybercrime services are now available.

Who is better to assess the emerging market then The Economist who is reporting on services that:

allows customers to specify a target group, such as British lawyers or American doctors. Once enough of their machines have been infected, documents and other data are siphoned out of them.

and there are inevitable limits to the growth of this market:

some criminals may be reluctant to use CaaS providers, which need to market their services--and hence may attract the attention of the authorities.

Don't want to have to worry about yet another kind of threat, try managed security services available from a number of vendors.
