Policy-Based Vulnerability Management

We've posted a new article on vulnerability management. Here's an excerpt:

Vulnerability management requires a combination of detailed knowledge of devices on a network and information about known vulnerabilities that affect those devices. Both the state of a network and the set of vulnerabilities change frequently, adding to the difficulty of vulnerability management. One way to deal with the complexities of network vulnerability management is to define policies describing how network assets are inventoried and patched and enforce those policies automatically. This task is accomplished with a four-step process.
