Careful What You Browse For

Typos can hurt, and not just for students who don't proofread their papers. We need to be careful with what we type in our browser address bars. A recent article on typosquatting notes 80,000 typosquatting sites for the top 2,000 web sites.

Typosquatting is illegal and may actually be on the decline but we still need basic defenses, like double checking URLs we type and using services like OpenDNS to avoid malicious sites. OpenDNS is a free DNS, domain filtering service offering user configurable settings.
