TCP Vulnerable to DoS Attack

The details are not public but security researchers and network vendors are struggling to find a work around for a vulnerability in the TCP protocol that threatens virtually any device with a broadband connection.

The Register reports on the problem with interviews from multiple experts. There are no clear solutions in spite of efforts by researchers at Outpost24 who have been working on the problem since 2005.
