Extended Validation SSL Certificates and Phishing

Phishing is a threat to consumers and businesses alike. One response to this is a new type of digital certificate known as the Extended Validation (EV) certificate. IT requires stronger identification and authentication measures and takes advantage of improved users interfaces in browsers. This podcast explains the motivation for using EV SSL, discusses some of the requirements on certifying authorities who issue EV SSL and some of the improvements in browser interfaces that convey more accessible and more understandable security information to users.
